Biennial Evening Primrose /Oenothera biennis/

It is a biennial herb of the evening primrose family. It often reaches a height of 1 m. The flowers are arranged in a raceme, large, symmetrical, consisting of four petals, brightly yellow-colored, and have a strong fragrance. It grows individually or in groups in dry wastelands, dry pine forests, sandy areas, along roads and railways, and in gravel pits.

Evening primrose infusion is used internally as an astringent for diarrhea. It can also be used to treat cough, spasmodic asthma, and kidney stones. Extracts from the plant stimulate the activity of the stomach, liver, and spleen. It is also beneficial for neuralgia of the heart.
