Important and interesting facts
The amber snail is a “transitional” mollusc from aquatic to terrestrial molluscs.
The shell of the amber snail is relatively fragile and translucent, ranging from amber-yellow to greenish-yellow, with indistinct growth bands. The body of the snail is usually dull yellow-brown, but dark grey specimens are also possible.
Activity is not dependent on the time of day: if it is wet, they can be active both day and night.
The lifespan of Succinea putris in laboratory conditions is 13 to 17 months.
