
European Starflower /Trientalis europaea/
European starflower is a variable species in the primrose family. Within this species, several subspecies are distinguished. It is a relatively small (5-20 cm) plant found in groups in various forests and shrubs in Latvia. The flowers usually grow individually, occasionally in pairs or threes, fairly large, 1.3-2 cm in diameter, snow-white, sometimes pink. It blooms from late May to July.
