
Field Bindweed /Convolvulus arvensis/
It is a perennial, large (30-150 cm) bindweed family plant. The root extends deep into the ground. The stem is twining, covered in the upper part. The flowers appear one at a time in the leaf axils. The corolla is funnel-shaped, fused, white or pale pink, with 5 darker stripes on the outside. It blooms from June to September.
It is a weed with rhizomes, reproducing both vegetatively and by seeds. The root system reaches up to 4 m, but vegetative propagation ability is maintained up to a depth of 40 cm. The plant produces up to 500 seeds, which retain germination for 50 years. Seeds germinate up to a depth of 15 cm.
