Field Scabious /Knáutia arvénsis/

It is a perennial plant, reaching a height of 30-100 cm. It has an erect, sparsely branched stem covered with short, stiff hairs. The flowers are blue-violet, reddish-violet, or violet. The plant blooms throughout the summer until late autumn, with fruit maturing in August. Within one summer, the plant can produce up to 3.000 seeds.

This plant has a pronounced ability to absorb harmful substances, so it is harvested in clean areas. The iridoids found in the plant exhibit anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and antiviral activities. Therefore, tea made from the above-ground parts of this plant is used to treat various conditions, including irritated skin, rashes, dermatomycoses, eczema, angina, bronchitis, and bladder inflammation.
