Forking Catchfly /Silene dichotoma/

It is a species in the carnation family. In Latvia, it is rapidly disappearing, with individual specimens and groups found in fallow lands, clearings, and along railways.

It is an annual plant, reaching a height of 20-60 cm. The stem, covered with tiny hairs, is upright, and the inflorescence branches dichotomously. The lanceolate leaves are hairy. At the branching point, there is a single flower with a relatively long stem. The corolla is white. It blooms from June to August.
