Golden Marguerite /Anthemis tinctoria/

This plant is commonly found throughout Latvia. It is a biennial or perennial, medium-sized (20-70 cm) member of the Asteraceae family. The flower heads are relatively large, about 2-3 cm in diameter. Golden Marguerite blooms throughout the summer.

For medicinal purposes, the flowers of golden Marguerite are usually used. It possesses insecticidal and bactericidal properties. In traditional medicine, it has long been known for its diuretic, antipyretic, anti-malarial, bile-stimulating, diaphoretic, and hemostatic properties. Infusions of its flowers are often used as anti-inflammatory and expectorant remedies.
