Marsh Cranesbill /Geranium palustre/

Marsh cranesbill is a species of the geranium genus. In Latvia, its presence is unevenly distributed, occurring more frequently in the eastern part and less commonly in the western part of the country. Individual plants and small groups can be found in moist meadows, shrubs, and forests.

It is a perennial, medium-sized plant (20-80 cm) with a stout root. The inflorescence is elongated, with two purplish-red flowers at its end (diameter 1.5-2.5 cm). It blooms from late June to August.
