Sweet clover is found throughout Latvia, growing along roadsides, in quarries, and on fields. It is a biennial, large (40-150 cm) member of the pea family with yellow flowers. It blooms from June to September. Sweet clover is used as a flavoring agent in some food products and tobacco goods. It is also utilized as a medicinal plant, with preparations made from sweet clover used externally for treating rheumatism.
