Two-Leaved Solomon’s Seal /Maianthemum bifolium/
This is a perennial, small (5-20 cm) plant of the lily family with a thin, creeping, and branching root and an upright stem. While the plant has not yet started to bloom, it has only one leaf. When flowering, 2-3 leaves develop. The tiny flowers (3-5 cm in diameter) are white. The plant is found throughout the territory of Latvia, growing in shaded forests and shrubs.
Two-leaved Solomon's seal has anti-inflammatory, fever-reducing, pain-relieving, hemostatic, strengthening, diuretic, and astringent properties.
